Types of Hydraulic Fittings and Adapters
JIC Fittings: JIC (Joint Industry Council) fittings, also known as SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) fittings, are widely used in hydraulic systems. ORFS Fittings: ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal) fittings are similar to JIC fittings, but they have a flat face with an O-ring seal. These fittings are made from steel or stainless steel and are available in sizes ranging from -4 to -32. ORFS fittings are suitable for high-pressure systems and are used in applications where leakage is not acceptable.
NPT Fittings: NPT (National Pipe Thread) fittings are widely used in the US and are available in various sizes, ranging from 1/8″ to 4″. These fittings have a tapered thread and are made from steel, brass, or stainless steel. NPT fittings are suitable for low to medium-pressure systems and are used in applications where leakage is acceptable.
BSP Fittings: BSP (British Standard Pipe) fittings are widely used in the UK and are available in various sizes, ranging from 1/8″ to 4″. These fittings have a tapered thread and are made from steel, brass, or stainless steel. BSP fittings are suitable for low to medium-pressure systems and are used in applications where leakage is acceptable.
