Fittings Types
Your hose and assembly will need to seal, and your choice is also part of the fittings. The three major types are:
O-ring
Excellent for high-pressure applications, preventing leaks. The component's threads pull the fitting against the port. This traps the O-ring to flatten it, forming a snug seal.
Mating angle
The seal occurs when two different angles are wedged together. These fittings are sealed with straight or parallel threads.
Tapered threads
These come in male and female threads. When they're threaded together, the tapered threads deform. This puts pressure on the couplings, which form a tight seal. These fittings are prone to leaking due to over-torquing. They're also not precise, but do not use tape to compensate. Tape tends to shred, causing contamination.

Materials of Core Tube
Silicone
Silicone cores have become the material of choice for sanitary applications due to their flexibility and cleanliness. A typical temperature range for silicone extends from –65°F to 500°F (–53°C to 315°C).
Fluoropolymer
Fluoropolymer core tubes are very widely used and quickly replacing silicone as the material of choice for sanitary applications. PTFE, PFA, and FEP are three common fluoropolymers with a typical temperature range from –65°F to 450°F (–53°C to 230°C).
Thermoplastic (Nylon)
Thermoplastic, or nylon, core tubes are often chosen for hydraulic applications. They can withstand high pressures and have a typical temperature range from –40°F to 200°F (–40°C to 93°C). Available in diameter sizes up to one-inch, thermoplastic core materials are regarded as good economical, general purpose hoses and can handle pressure impulses better than metal and Fluoropolymer core hoses.
Rubber
Rubber core hoses are economical, general purpose hoses with a typical temperature range like that of thermoplastic. Rubber hoses have the ability to be crushed without permanent damage and can be built with little to no special equipment. They are also available in diameter sizes above two inches—larger than their counterparts.
Process of Industrial Hose Assembly
A hydraulic hose is one piece of the puzzle within a hydraulic hose assembly. A hydraulic hose assembly actually consists of a hose and fittings. These fittings are what connect the hose to the other components within a hydraulic system.

Collar Insert: Hose collar on a hoseFirst, the technician inserts a hose collar onto one end of the hose. The job of the collar is to hold the whole assembly in place. The technician twists the collar on until the hose is just short of the inside rim of the collar, to leave room for the hose to expand.
Hose Measurement and Cutting: Measuring Hydraulic HoseNext, the technician measures the hose to the required length, and cuts back to the center of the collar, as the fitting will provide that additional length.
Projectile Cleaning: Shooting projectile through hoseThe hose gets cut on a chop saw and immediately after has a projectile shot through it. The purpose of the projectile is to clean any debris that may have entered into the hose due to the chop saw. After this, the hose is considered to be “ultra clean.”
Fitting Identification and Insertion: The proper fittings must be identified. Once identified, lubricants are applied to the threads of the fitting insert. Applying lubricant allows the fitting to be inserted easily and evenly, without marring or damaging the inner liner of the hose. The fitting should start to thread in easily.
Finishing the Hose: Threading a fitting with machineThen, a high-torque machine is used to thread in the insert the rest of the way. The same procedure will be performed on the other end of the hose, with the other fitting.
